The Power of Innovation with ITU ARI Teknokent: 70 Awards Found Their Winners
BEETECH 2025 TECHNOLOGY AWARDS ANNOUNCED THEIR WINNERS
The BEETECH 2025 Technology Awards, organized for the sixth time by ITU ARI Teknokent, have announced their winners. During the ceremony—where ITU ARI Teknokent companies that stood out with their projects, technologies, and export performance were awarded in their respective categories—the opening of the GO Office, launched by the Ministry of Industry and Technology within the scope of the Entrepreneurship Office (GO) transformation, was also held.
The BEETECH Technology Awards, organized by ITU ARI Teknokent, Türkiye’s hub for innovation and technology, were held at the Istanbul Technical University Suleyman Demirel Cultural Center. ITU ARI Teknokent companies that distinguished themselves through the projects they carried out, the technologies they developed, and their export performance were evaluated based on 2024 performance criteria and received awards in five different categories: “Incubation,” “Small,” “Medium,” “Large,” and “Academic.” In the “Special Award” category, companies and institutions selected by the jury were also honored with awards.
The Power of Innovation Was Once Again on Stage at BEETECH 2025
The opening speeches of the BEETECH 2025 Awards Ceremony, which aims to increase the visibility of technology, success stories, and strategic collaborations and to advance Türkiye’s technology vision through the power of innovation, were delivered by Prof. Dr. Attila Dikbas, General Manager of ITU ARI Teknokent, and Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Rector of ITU.
At the ceremony, where the most successful companies of the year were awarded, Flowbase won in the Incubation Company category, Eğlence Fabrikası won in the Small-Scale Company category, Mikro Yazılımevi won in the Medium-Scale Company category, Argela won in the Large-Scale Company category, and Altay Havacılık won in the Academic Company category.
The event, which brought together companies that inspire the technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem, entrepreneurs, and contributing stakeholders, also hosted the opening of the Entrepreneurship Office (GO), implemented under the leadership of the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Positioned as a next-generation incubation model, the GO Office was designed as a strategic structure supporting collaboration and innovation by offering entrepreneurs flexible workspaces and standardized support mechanisms.
Prof. Dr. Dikbas: “The BEETECH Awards Clearly Demonstrate Our Ecosystem’s Growth Capacity and International Competitiveness.”
Emphasizing that the BEETECH Awards Ceremony highlights not only the companies and entrepreneurs but also the achievements built together over the past five years, the global reputation gained, and the impact created, Prof. Dr. Attila Dikbas, General Manager of ITU ARI Teknokent, shared the following evaluation, presenting the ecosystem’s strength through concrete economic indicators:
“In 2020, our total company turnover was USD 8.5 billion. As of 2025, it has reached USD 11.8 billion. This represents 40% growth. Our exports increased by 65% over the same period, rising from USD 803 million to over USD 1.3 billion. Our R&D revenue increased by USD 208 million over the last five years, reaching USD 521 million with a 70% jump.
The exports of our academic companies increased 4.5 times, rising from USD 10 million to USD 45 million; and the exports of our ITU academic companies tripled, rising from USD 6 million to USD 18 million. These figures show that the BEETECH Awards are not only a platform celebrating today’s achievements, but also a platform that clearly demonstrates our ecosystem’s growth capacity, academic contributions, and international competitiveness.”
Prof. Dr. Mandal: “Universities Are the Most Important Driving Force of the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem.”
In his speech during the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Rector of Istanbul Technical University (ITU), emphasized that universities are the most important driving force of the entrepreneurship ecosystem. Highlighting that competing in deep technologies depends on collaboration with universities, Mandal stated that a culture of working together is essential in order to succeed in this field.
Noting that the knowledge and competencies universities possess can be utilized even more—especially through student teams—Mandal also stated that, within the scope of the ARI Kumbara project, allocating 10% of the ARI Fund to project teams at ITU is both a value-creating approach and a strategic perspective that differentiates ITU ARI Teknokent from other technoparks.
