The BEETECH 2026 Awards, organized for the seventh time by İTÜ ARI Teknokent, Türkiye’s hub for innovation and technology, have been presented to their recipients. As part of BEETECH 2026, 30 awards were presented based on the results of the 2025 Performance Scorecard evaluating R&D companies operating within İTÜ ARI Teknokent. The Awards Program also recognized academic companies, startups founded by İTÜ project teams, İTÜ Çekirdek and Innogate startups, as well as stakeholders contributing to the development of the ecosystem under various special award categories. A total of 68 awards were presented to companies, startups, and ecosystem stakeholders during the ceremony.
Held at Istanbul Technical University’s Süleyman Demirel Cultural Center, the BEETECH 2026 Awards Ceremony evaluated the 2025 performance of R&D companies operating within İTÜ ARI Teknokent across five categories: academic, incubation, small, medium, and large-scale companies. The categorization took into account whether company shareholders were academics, the duration of operations as an incubation company, and the number of R&D personnel employed at İTÜ ARI Teknokent.
The BEETECH performance evaluation system consists of two main components: the BEETECH Performance Scorecard, designed to measure company performance, benchmark companies within their respective categories, and provide feedback; and the BEETECH Awards, which aim to recognize, highlight, and promote the achievements reflected in the Scorecard.
Commercial Activity and Collaboration Evaluated in the Performance Scorecard
In the BEETECH Performance Scorecard, companies’ 2025 performance was assessed under two main headings: Commercial Activity and Collaboration. Commercial Activity criteria included R&D Revenue, R&D Exports, R&D Expenditure, Commercialization, TTO Processes, and Project Outputs. Collaboration criteria included Collaboration with İTÜ and Collaboration with the Managing Company.
Based on an overall assessment of the 2025 Performance Scorecard, Hitit Bilgisayar ranked first in the large-scale company category, FEV TR Otomotiv ve Enerji in the medium-scale company category, Pixery Bilgi Teknolojileri in the small-scale company category, Flowbase Yazılım in the incubation company category, and Vagustim Sağlık Teknolojileri in the academic company category.
In addition to the category winners, companies demonstrating outstanding performance across specific Performance Scorecard criteria received special awards under the categories of “Women’s Power in R&D,” “Export Leader,” “Collaboration with İTÜ,” “Collaboration with the Managing Company,” and “Turning Knowledge into Value.” Each of these five special award categories was evaluated separately across academic, incubation, small, medium, and large-scale companies. Together with the category winners, a total of 30 awards were presented based on the Performance Scorecard results.
Special Awards for Achievements and Collaborations Creating Value for the Entrepreneurship Ecosystem
In addition to the 30 awards presented to R&D companies based on the Performance Scorecard results, BEETECH 2026 presented another 38 special awards covering a broad range of achievements—from the commercialization of academic knowledge and startups emerging from the university campus to the growth of İTÜ Çekirdek and Innogate startups and collaborations that strengthen the ecosystem.
Within this scope, the Academic Knowledge to Commercial Success Special Award, recognizing the commercialization performance of academic companies between 2021 and 2025, was presented to five companies. A startup originating from an İTÜ project team, which later incorporated and joined İTÜ ARI Teknokent, received the From Campus to Company Special Award.
A total of four awards were presented under the İTÜ Çekirdek Alumni “Start Up,” İTÜ Çekirdek Alumni “Scale Up,” and From Incubation to Global Competition “Innogate” Special Awards, highlighting the milestones achieved by İTÜ Çekirdek and Innogate startups throughout their entrepreneurial journeys.
BEETECH 2026 also recognized stakeholders contributing to the development of the ecosystem through long-term collaborations, sectoral expertise, entrepreneurship support, and investment activities. A total of 28 awards were presented under the Vertical Partners Strategic Collaboration, Vertical Partners, Ecosystem Partnership, and ARI FON Partnership Special Awards.
Prof. Dr. Mandal: “We Must Develop Our Young Talents Together Starting from Their First Year”
Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ) Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal emphasized the shared responsibility of the university and technopark in developing young talent. Highlighting the importance of an integrated research and entrepreneurship ecosystem in which universities, industry, the public sector, and society work together, Mandal said:
“Our most valuable strength is the young talent who come to our university with great enthusiasm and awareness. To develop their potential, we must introduce our students to research, technology development, and entrepreneurship processes starting from their first year. We have a significant opportunity in this regard with the technopark companies with which we share the same campus. Through long-term internships, candidate engineering programs, and joint projects, we must enable our young people to become a direct part of this ecosystem. Our student project teams supported through ITUTECH and our approach to extracurricular learning are also important steps in this direction. By learning together, developing together, and succeeding together, we aim to transform the talents of our young people into technologies and ventures that will shape the future of our country.”
Prof. Dr. Sağlamer: “İTÜ ARI Teknokent Has Grown Through Years of Dedicated Effort into a Strong Ecosystem”
İTÜ ARI Teknokent Chair of the Board Prof. Dr. Gülsün Sağlamer shared the story behind the establishment of İTÜ ARI Teknokent during her speech at the ceremony, including the efforts undertaken to lay its foundations during her two terms as Rector of İTÜ between 1996 and 2004.
Sağlamer emphasized that İTÜ ARI Teknokent’s transformation into a strong technology and entrepreneurship ecosystem is the result of a long-term vision, determination, and collective effort. She also highlighted to entrepreneurs the value of the accumulated knowledge and dedication behind the ecosystem they are part of today. Sağlamer noted that this legacy continues to evolve through new generations of entrepreneurs and technology companies.
Prof. Dr. Dikbaş: “The BEETECH Awards Make Visible the Value Behind Our Five Years of Growth”
Emphasizing that the BEETECH Awards highlight both İTÜ ARI Teknokent’s development over the past five years and the achievements driving that growth, İTÜ ARI Teknokent General Manager Prof. Dr. Attila Dikbaş said:
“Between 2020 and 2025, the number of companies in our ecosystem increased by 29 percent to 423, while our total turnover grew by 42 percent, exports by 72 percent, and R&D revenue by 115 percent. The number of academic companies also increased from 81 to 104, making us one of the technoparks with the highest number of academic companies today. These figures clearly demonstrate the progress our companies and startups have made in technology development, R&D, and exports. Through the BEETECH Awards, we make the effort and achievements behind this development visible. In addition to strong commercial performance, we recognize companies that stand out in university–industry collaboration, R&D, entrepreneurship, and technology development, as well as stakeholders whose collaborations strengthen our ecosystem. As we prepare to celebrate our 25th anniversary in 2027, under the İTÜ legacy and within İTÜ ARI Teknokent, we will continue creating new value on a global scale through technology- and R&D-driven entrepreneurship.”
